Jay Khakh is the team leader of Homestead Realty Group, a real estate team based in Abbotsford, BC. He specializes in luxury homes, farm estates, hobby farms, new build lots, land, farm leases, and commercial farm operations, as well as foreclosures and court-ordered sales. He has been selling farms for over 5 years and assists clients with both residential and commercial purchases and sales.
Jay brings a background in farming, finance, estate planning, and management to every file. His experience covers cannabis operations, berry and vegetable farms, agritourism, custom home construction and land raising on the floodplain, Farm Credit Canada financing, and applications to the Agricultural Land Commission. In court-ordered sales, he represents both lenders and buyers.
On land purchases, Jay walks each property with his buyers and reviews the water source, septic, drainage, flood exposure, ALR status, and usable acreage before they commit, working with trusted inspectors for wells, septic, and drainage. Where farm status or property taxes are part of a buyer's plan, he outlines the questions to ask and refers the details to an accountant.
Jay and his brother, Harvey Khakh, work on every deal together. With Harvey's focus on new construction and strata, clients moving from a condo to acres, or from acres to something smaller, have both sides of the move handled by one team.
Jay holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of the Fraser Valley. Born and raised in Abbotsford, he is married, has a young daughter, and is building his own farmhouse in the Sumas Prairie. He works across the Lower Mainland of BC, from Vancouver to Hope.
